Cuisinart Multiclad Pro

If There Was Ever A Popularity Contest For Cookware, The Cuisinart Multiclad Pro Set Would Win!

Cuisinart Multiclad Pro Stainless Steel 12-Piece Cookware Set

The Cuisinart Multiclad Pro has consistently high ratings, rave reviews and  some very satisfied users!

So I decided to take a closer look and see what makes the Cuisinart Multiclad Pro set so great.

WHAT’S INCLUDED?

Cuisinart Multiclad pro is a 12 piece cookware set.  Here’s what’s included:

  • 1.5 qt saucepan with cover
  • 3 qt saucepan with cover`
  • 8” open skillets
  • 10” open skillet
  • 3.5 qt sauté pan with cover
  • 8 qt stockpot with cover
  • Steamer insert with cover

7 pots,  5 interchangeable covers (don’t you just love that?).  12 pieces in all.   Already I can see that it includes pretty much all the basic items you would need in your kitchen.

WHAT EXACTLY IS MULTICLAD TRI-PLY STAINLESS STEEL??

The Cuisinart Multiclad Pro is constructed of tri-ply Stainless steel with aluminium core.

If your eyes just glazed over with that mouthful of a description, I don’t blame you.  it almost sounds like another language!  So let me make it simpler:

This cookware is made of 3 layers (hence the word ‘tri-ply’):  an aluminium core sandwiched between two layers of stainless steel .  Aluminium is often added to stainless steel cookware as it conducts heat better than stainless steel alone.

However, the great thing about this set is that the three layers of metal, including the aluminium core, are not just on the base but extend all the way up the sides (hence the word ‘multiclad’).  This means that food gets even heating as it is surrounded by the heat from all sides and there are no hot spots within the pot.  Cuisinart refers to this as their “Heat Surround Technology”.

LOOKS DO MATTER!

Not only does this set perform well in the kitchen but it also looks very good!  It features a brushed steel exterior and a mirror-polished interior for non-reactive, quick release of foods.    Definitely a premium look for your kitchen.

CAN YOU ‘HANDLE’ THE HANDLES?

The handles on these pots are made of cast stainless steel and are riveted to the body, which is a sturdier construction than welding which might come off.

Also the handles stay cool during cooking and come with a thumb rest which makes it comfortable to lift and pour.

AND THE LIDS SEAL THE DEAL……

One of the great features of the Cuisinart Multiclad Pro is the tight -fitting stainless steel covers which form a nice seal when food is cooking but allow for a bit of steam to escape.   The covers are also dishwasher-safe.

Also, the lids are interchangeable with some items and even fit the open skillets which, in my opinion, is a great bonus.  Ever tried to make a grilled cheese with a mismatched lid on a skillet?   I have and the results are, let’s just say, not perfect!

IS IT EASY TO MAINTAIN?

Yes. Just make sure to cook on medium to low heat.  Use nylon or silicone cooking utensils.

When done with cooking, just fill with hot water and liquid detergent after each use, and rinse off after letting it stand for a while.  Most of the food particles will come right off.  According to some users of Cuisinart Multiclad pro, cleanup’s a breeze and its actually enjoyable to handwash them because its so easy.  Also you can just rinse it and then wash it in the dishwasher.

FOR THOSE WHO LIKE TO POUR

If you’ve ever tried to pour from a pot that doesn’t have a rim and watched in dismay as it spills and drips down the side, here’s your solution.  The rims on these pots are specially tapered to allow for drip-free pouring.

CAN YOU USE THESE IN THE OVEN?

Yes!  Cuisinart Multiclad Pro cookware can be used in the oven without damage to a temperature up to 500 degrees F.  It can go from burner to broiler with no problem.  Of course, the handles would get very warm so be sure to use pot holders.

IS IT DISHWASHER SAFE?

Yes, Cuisinart Multiclad Pro is dishwasher safe.  However, the manufacturer cautions that soil from other dishes in the dishwasher may be abrasive or some other cooking utensil might spoil or scratch the surface of the cookware.  Over time, any utensil will get scratched in the dishwasher.   So while they don’t come out right and say it, I would suggest that it’s always better to wash with hand.

CAN IT BE USED WITH INDUCTION COOKTOPS?

The Cuisinart Multiclad Pro line is compatible with induction cooktops.  Note that the previous Multiclad line was not but the Pro version is.

DOES IT INCLUDE A WARRANTY

Yes, it comes with a lifetime warranty against defects.

WHAT MORE DO YOU NEED?

Actually not much!  This set really has all the pieces and pans for your basic cooking needs, whether large or small.

WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING

This Cuisinart Cookware set has a lot of happy users who think this set is outstanding.

ARE THERE ANY COMPLAINTS?

With the overwhelming majority of users raving about the Cuisinart Multiclad Pro cookware, there are hardly any notable complaints about it.  Some users however, complain about food sticking to the pots despite following instructions.

We have to remember that by its very nature, stainless steel is not non-stick and this issue is not unique to Cuisinart but to all stainless steel cookware and can be avoided with the proper cooking techniques.  Users who rarely have any sticking issues state that using medium heat and waiting till the pan is hot before adding some oil/butter solves that problem.  Click here for a more comprehensive guide to cooking with stainless steel.
